In this design, I was looking to create a truly feminine product without resorting to stereotypes.
This ladyshave is practical and functional first, through small improvements such as the self-standing body shape, a hanging cord for use in the shower and a small, stable charging base. These functional elements were incorporated in a simple ergonomical form featuring straightforward, high quality materials in a bold colour scheme.

The product continues on the market today, making it one of the longest-running designs in the philips consumer lifestyle portfolio.
The design received an IF Award and was mentioned in the book ‘1000 new designs’ by Jennifer Hudson.
The original concept work for this product was created in collaboration with Joanne Smith of Philips Design.
